Community Outreach
Part of the recovery process is to break out of the cycle of self-centeredness. We facilitate this by implanting ways to reach out to others, especially their families and the community. The following activities help the residents to take the focus off themselves and reach out to their families and the community.
- On the Saturday before Easter, Stephen’s Place holds an annual egg hunt for the resident’s and graduate’s children.
- At Christmas time, we have a Christmas party for the children and families of the residents and graduates.
- Participate in charity events such as 5K runs.
Planning and participating in these events helps the residents to bond with their children and families as well as becoming aware of some of the needs in the community.
